The hidden costs of layered agencies

May 21, 2026

I’m an Account Manager at a creative agency… but my job at KIOSK Creative Services looks very different to what people expect.

In most agencies, the structure is layered:
Client > Account Manager > Strategist > Creative > back again.

It’s designed to manage workflow. But it often creates distance between the client and the actual thinking.

And that’s where things can get diluted.

At Kiosk, we’ve stripped that back.
Our clients work directly with the people doing the work; creative directors, designers, copywriters.

My role isn’t to sit in the middle and relay messages. It’s to keep things moving, make decisions easier, and add clarity where it matters.

The difference is noticeable straight away.

Conversations are sharper.
Feedback is clearer.
Ideas don’t lose their edge on the way through.
And importantly, things move faster.

There’s no waiting days for a response because it’s stuck in a chain. No second-guessing whether the intent has been interpreted correctly.
You’re in the room (or on the call) with the people shaping the outcome.

From my side, it also makes the work better.
Instead of managing layers, I’m part of the thinking. I can challenge, contribute, and help guide projects in real time – alongside the creatives and the client.
It’s a more direct, more accountable way of working.

And in a world where timelines are tight and attention is limited, that matters.

Less process.
More progress.

If you’ve worked with traditional agency structures before, you’ll feel the difference pretty quickly…

If you’re in the market for a new Creative Agency – please send us a message and I’ll let you into the inner-sanctum that is Kiosk 😊
