Botania Park Brand ID

Client: Hesperia | Project: Botania Park Brand ID
The challenge for any new residential land development is differentiation. All too often, it’s left to brand design, which can feel a bit superficial. We wanted to find a true point of differentiation that would be deeper than a well-designed brand ID.
We had the opportunity to do just that as the team at Hesperia brought us in at the earliest stages of development planning, before the development plan had been finalised to develop the brand purpose and story. This would drive not just the brand ID, but ultimately urban design and features of the entire master-planned community.
Our research revealed that the City of Wanneroo had Perth’s lowest canopy percentage. But, thanks to greater water access from the old market garden leases, the project would support the establishment of a significantly larger number of trees, vegetation, green spaces, and rehabilitated natural bush, thereby increasing the area’s canopy.
The resulting purpose and brand story proposed a focus on planting an unprecedented number of trees to line the streets and connect the community.
This vision of a shaded leafy community inspired the name Botania Park. The brand mark combines a customised, classic typeface with a logo where the first letters create a stylised tree. The colour palette reflects the natural landscape and the spectacular sunsets.
Being involved early meant our work shaped both the brand and the community itself, creating an environment that will enhance the quality of life for the residents in the years to come.
